What could possibly be more fun than shopping for toys? I have a newfound love for perusing toy stores. There’s something magical about watching my daughter’s eyes light up when she spots something in a toy store. But then again, there’s something not-so-magical about listening her whine for the next 10 minutes about why she MUST. HAVE. IT. In any case, I find that buying a toy that gives back is far less guilt-inducing. So, without further ado… here are 5 toy brands that are giving back!
B. Toys
B. Toys makes fun, whimsical, and colorful toys for newborns to big kids. Their packaging is environmentally friendly. A portion of each sale goes to WE.org, an organization helping build schools around the world.
Bears for Humanity
Bears for Humanity makes GOTS-certified organic plush toys. They employ under-served individuals, providing job skill and training. With each purchase, a teddy bear is donated to a child in need.
Cuddle + Kind
Cuddle + Kind makes hand-knit, heirloom quality dolls. They employ artisans in Peru and provide them a fair-trade and sustainable income. For each doll purchased, 10 meals are provided for a child in need.
One World Play Project
One World Play Project makes an unpoppable futbol! And what kid doesn’t want a ball? They donate 5% of their sales to organizations helping to bring “play” to communities in need.
Tegu
Tegu makes their eponymous magnetic wooden blocks. They provide fair trade employment in Honduras and use responsibly harvested wood for their blocks.
