We are all familiar with Black Friday (people are crazy for a good deal) and Cyber Monday (people are crazy for a good online deal). There’s also Small Business Saturday (don’t forget the little guys!) and Giving Tuesday (nonprofits need a little love too).
Smack in the middle of all this spending is Shop For Good Sunday, which will be on Sunday, November 25th. This is a chance to specifically support companies that are socially conscious or doing social good for the planet and those living on it.
Why is this important?
There’s no denying we live in a consumption society. We love our stuff and we spend a lot of money on our stuff, myself included. But what if a small part of that money we spend on our beloved stuff is diverted to help causes like hunger, homelessness, the environment, and disaster relief? There are many companies who build social good into their DNA and are helping some of the most dire problems faced by humanity. We can join in their missions by choosing to spend our money with them.
