There is a trickle down effect that is associated with girls in school. Economies grow. Communities become healthier. Infant mortality and child marriage decrease. All because girls get to go to school. Supporting girls education isn’t just about the betterment of an individual. It’s about lifting entire communities. It’s an inspiring cause. That’s why I went looking for brands supporting girls education and empowerment.
I have a daughter. I want nothing more than for her to be able to have an extraordinary life, if she chooses to. She just started kindergarten and literally bounces into my car when I pick her up, so excited to tell me about everything she learned that day. Yet, I know there are 130 million girls around the world who do not get to go to school. War, poverty, and gender bias keep them out. I can’t help but think what these girls could accomplish for themselves, their communities, and the world if they simply had the opportunity to go to school.
