I do not have a fur-baby, but I am a fur-aunt. My sister rescued a little waif of a dog 6 years ago from a no-kill shelter in Redwood City called Pets in Need. She named her Mochi. Mochi is the most neurotic, anxious-ridden pooch I have ever encountered. She is also super sweet and really just wants a warm lap to sit in. Maybe a nice belly rub. And as much food as her 7 pound body can withstand.
Pets bring so much joy into our lives. Sadly, there are several million animals in shelters around the country. About 1.5 million get euthanized each year. While I know we can’t bring home a gazillion animals, there are small and tangible ways we can help. One is by supporting brands that are helping pet rescue organizations.
