Yoobi: School Supplies that Support US Classrooms

When I was a kid, I loved “back to school” shopping.  Specifically, I loved shopping for school supplies.  When August rolled around, I would get so excited about getting new pens, pencils, folders, notebooks.  It was pretty much the highlight of my school year.  When I came across Yoobi, a social good company that donates school supplies to classrooms in need, the 10 year old in me got super excited.

I have several friends who are teachers.  It’s sadly shocking how common it is for teachers to have to spend their own money to purchase school supplies for their classroom.  And it’s heartbreaking that so many student right here in the US don’t have access to the most basic of school supplies.  Yoobi’s mission is so simple and so brilliant.  For every Yoobi item purchased, a Yoobi item is donated to an American classroom in need.  They partner with Kids in Need Foundation to determine which classrooms are eligible for the donation.

I bought a variety of different items from Yoobi — markers, chalk, pens, and journals.  In fact, I got the mini washable marker set as part of the goodie bag for my daughter’s birthday party.

I’m also slightly obsessed with journals.  Call me a Luddite, but I still prefer to write my thoughts, ideas, and lists on paper.  These Yoobi journals are classic and simple, but come in cool, vibrant colors.  It’s perfect to tuck into my tote bag because some of my best thoughts and ideas come to mind when I’m on the go.

Yoobi’s products are fun, vibrant, and durable.  I recently saw Yoobi products at Target, which is exciting because I think more people to need hear about this company.  These are products I would buy anyway, so it’s great to know there’s a company like Yoobi that makes great products and is passionate about supporting classrooms in need.
